Nokia Announces Sub-Rs 6,000 Budget C12 Smartphone in India: Availability and Specifications

Nokia has announced the launch of a new affordable smartphone in India. The latest Nokia C12 has Android 12 Go Edition software, an HD+ display, 2 GB of additional memory and a long-lasting battery,

According to the company, the Nokia C12 is available for Rs 5,999 as part of a limited time launch offer. The first sale will begin on March 17 on the Amazon India website. The smartphone’s color options are Dark Cyan, Charcoal and Light Mint.

“The Nokia C12 includes Nokia’s smartphone promise – Ad-free Android Experience, longer battery life, European design, twice as safe and secure, and of course a one-year replacement warranty for added peace of mind. It comes with an octa-core processor and virtual memory expansion to enhance the user experience,” Sanmeet Singh Kochhar, Head of India and Middle East, HMD Global, said in a statement.

The Nokia C12 has a 6.3-inch HD+ resolution screen with a 60 Hz refresh rate. It has a plastic body and back panel to provide extra protection against accidental drops. In addition, the phone has a one-year replacement warranty.

The new Nokia C12 runs Android 12 (Go edition) and is confirmed to receive two years of quarterly security updates. The phone is powered by an octa-core Unisoc 9863A1 SoC and 2 GB of RAM. The built-in RAM can be further expanded up to 4 GB using unused storage space.

According to the camera specifications, the Nokia C12 has an 8-megapixel rear camera sensor with autofocus and LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel lens on the front for selfies and video calls. The Nokia C12 offers 64GB of internal storage, which supports expansion with a microSD card (up to 256GB).

Backing the Nokian C12 is a 3,000mAh removable battery that supports 5W fast charging. The device’s dust and splash resistance is also IP52 rated.
