Samsung Announces Date for Galaxy Unpacked Event, Possible Launch of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5

Samsung has revealed that it will be hosting its Galaxy Unpacked event in the final week of July 2023, marking the first time the event will be held in Seoul, South Korea, where the company is based. The event will focus on the “next generation of its foldable series,” with the anticipated unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. The convention center COEX in Samseong-dong of Gangnam-gu district has been chosen as the venue for the event.

Samsung said in a press release: “Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. will introduce the next generation of foldable devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event in late July 2023 in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The Unpacked event will be held at the COEX Center in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, the intersection where Teheran-ro, innovative a hub of local startups, and Bongeunsa, a thousand-year-old Buddhist temple meet. This unique location offers the world a chance to experience the fascinating blend of past, present and future that defines Seoul.”

Although a confirmed date for the event has not been announced, there are rumors that it could be held on July 25th. The event will showcase Samsung’s foldable lineup, and expect some big changes this year.

“The foldable class embodies Samsung’s philosophy of delivering breakthrough, boundary-pushing innovations that shape the future of mobile experiences,” said TM Roh, president and general manager of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience (MX) business. “Hosting Unpacked in Seoul is equally significant, as it is a city that has become an emerging center of innovation and culture, as well as a flexible class.”

Samsung has organized Unpacked events in cities around the world, such as New York, London, Berlin and Barcelona. At its upcoming 27th Unpacked event in Seoul, the company said it will focus on “various leading cultural cities around the world that are closely aligned with the specific theme of each event. This year, Seoul was chosen because it has influenced global trends. Its dynamic culture and innovation, but they also reflect Samsung’s strong confidence in the collapsible category.
