Storm Reid and MacBook Air Star in Apple’s Debut ‘Study With Me’ Video

On October 11, Apple unveiled a new YouTube video titled ‘Study with me’ that runs for 90 minutes. The video stars Storm Reid, a renowned actress known for her roles in The Last of Us, Euphoria, and Missing, who has received an Emmy nomination. For those unfamiliar, YouTube has a specific genre of videos called ‘Study with me,’ where creators film themselves studying for extended periods (ranging from 30 minutes to 2-3 hours) to motivate and assist others in overcoming focus-related challenges and completing their tasks. In this fresh release, Reid can be observed studying on a 15-inch MacBook Air.

The video is called “Study With Me feat. Storm Reid x Apple’ and you can watch it here. Apple stated: “A 90-minute Study With Me video featuring Storm Reid designed to keep you focused on your studies and away from distractions. Storm uses the Pomodoro technique, with three 25-minute study sessions followed by fun 5-minute breaks that you can follow or use as inspiration for your own break time.

In the video, Reid is seen studying using the popular Pomodoro method to maximize focus, following 25 minutes of work with a 5 minute break. During breaks, Reid can be seen enjoying a snack of taco shells, sardines and hot sauce, and stretching next to a life-size teddy bear. In her last break session, she can be seen dancing with others.

Speaking about the video, Reid said, “I’m excited to share this new ‘Study With Me’ video from Apple that we created as a student tool. As a junior at the University of Southern California—go Trojans!—I spend a lot of time studying, and I’ve found that it’s so important to me combines work and music and movement.

This is the first time Apple has made a video like this, and while unique, YouTube is full of similar videos, sometimes garnering over 5 million views. Apple’s video has also surpassed 317,000 views in just a day.

Apple also focuses on the 15-inch MacBook Air in the video. The laptop has a Liquid Retina display and an M2 chip and weighs just 3.3 kilograms. It has features like FaceTime and continuity features like Handoff, AirDrop, Universal Clipboard, and Messages. Apple iPad and Apple Pencil can also be seen in the video. If students want to purchase Apple devices, Apple offers a year-long discount for students who are either currently enrolled or have just been accepted to college.
