The Apple Notes app, a popular choice among iOS users for note-taking, has received numerous updates in recent years to enhance its functionality. With the upcoming release of iOS 18, the app is set to receive new AI-powered features. Apple’s plans to incorporate AI capabilities into iOS 18 will extend to the Notes app, offering users even more advanced tools for organizing and managing their notes. Stay tuned to learn more about the exciting upgrades coming to Apple’s note-taking app on the iPhone.

Apple Notes in iOS 18

In June, Apple will announce its next-generation operating system with several speculated AI features. While several iOS apps were rumored to get an artificial intelligence boost, now the Notes app is also expected to get two new features with iOS 18. According to an AppleInsider report, Apple is rumored to be developing a built-in voice recording feature for the Notes app and Calculator integration.

The built-in recorder feature allows users to easily record, store and play back audio clips in the Notes app. Voice recording also allows users to add text or images alongside the voice memo. The report says: “The audio recording feature can benefit a wide range of Apple users. It allows students to record their class or lecture and then add notes or screenshots of the whiteboard – all in one note.”

Calculator integration with the Notes application

As for Calcuator’s integration with Notes, users will most likely be able to create math notes in the Notes app. These new features allow users to perform complex calculations. However, the extent of the complexity has not yet been confirmed. The report also highlighted that these new features match what Microsoft OneNote offers its users. In addition, Apple is also rumored to be redesigning the macOS Calculator app, so we can expect some big changes to the Notes and Calculator app in iOS 18.

All these features are expected to be announced at the WWDC event scheduled for June 10. Therefore, we may see what the iOS 18 update brings.
