How to Copy Links on WhatsApp Channels: An Upcoming Feature Explained

WhatsApp, the instant messaging app, is constantly working to improve the recently introduced Channels feature. Now, a new report from WABetaInfo has revealed that the Meta-owned platform is rolling out a feature that will allow users to quickly copy channel update links.

“After announcing a search feature to help people quickly find status updates and channels with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.13 update, WhatsApp is now exploring new improvements to this feature to improve the user experience,” WABetaInfo said.

A screenshot shared in the report revealed that there might be a new option in the message options that allows users to copy the channel update link. It allows users to instantly open a channel by presenting a message with a link attached, so they don’t lose the context of the update.

It is important to note that you do not need to be the creator of the channel to get the channel update link, as this feature is available to all users who have access to the channel.

The report suggested that this feature is useful because it allows users to quickly share important updates from the channel with other people without manually forwarding the update.

You can easily share a channel update outside of WhatsApp by copying the link, making it convenient for everyone to access the update and refer to the message they want without having to search through the entire channel history.

The feature to copy channel update links is available for some users who install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS from TestFlight app and WhatsApp beta for Android from Play Store and will roll out to more users in the coming days.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is rolling out a new reply bar feature to quickly reply to images, videos and GIFs. The new reply bar feature will become available when viewing images or videos in a chat after users install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.20 update from the Google Play Store
