Google Photos Offers Instant Cinematic Photo Effects

Thanks to Google’s machine learning algorithms, Google Photos is renowned for its convenience. One of its popular features is the cinematic photo effects, which were introduced in 2020. These effects automatically add depth and movement to photos, giving them a cinematic and immersive look. According to Android Police, the feature is now being updated to allow users to create cinematic photos on demand.

Now, users can find an option to create cinematic images by tapping the Add-ons button in the Google Photos Library tab. And to convert a regular photo into a cinematic photo, users need to select a photo and set how long they want the cinematic photo to be.

When it’s done, Google Photos presents users with a cinematic photo with a slow-motion zoom animation. Android Police further points out that the quality of the effect depends on the quality of the images selected by users.

It’s not clear when the wide rollout of the feature will begin, but according to the Google News Telegram Channel, some users have already reported receiving the feature.

The feature could likely be reserved for Google Pixel users and Google One subscribers, just like Google’s Magic Eraser is.

In other news, Google announced that it will end support for Drive for Desktop in Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012, and all 32-bit versions of Windows in August.
