Honor Set To Make Comeback In India With Madhav Sheth As Former Realme India CEO At The Helm

According to reports, Honor, the Chinese smartphone brand, is preparing to make a comeback in India in August this year. It is anticipated that Madhav Sheth, the former CEO of Realme India, will join Honor and have a significant role in the introduction of Honor-branded smartphones in the Indian market.

According to a report by ET Telecom, Honor’s India partner PSAV Global Tech Private Limited is currently in talks with Realme India’s former CEO Madhav Sheth to revive the brand in the country.

Headquartered in Noida, PSAV Global distributes Honor devices such as laptops, tablets and wearables. The company is now expected to leverage Sheth’s network to sell Honor smartphones through both online and offline channels.

According to sources in ET Telecom, Madhav Sheth, who is currently Realme’s head of business and corporate strategy (global), will bring in key personnel from Realme India to help set up sales operations for Honor smartphones.

Sources also confirmed to ET Telecom that Honor is not planning to set up its own team in India and will continue with the arrangement with PSAV Global, which has a comprehensive network of over 5,000 dealers and over 100 distributors covering both rural and urban areas across India. Among the top 100 cities.

In another report, IANS news agency sources said that executive-level executives from Realme’s online and mainline (offline) divisions have also written their papers related to Sheth’s new role at Honor India. Additionally, Sheth was absent from the company’s flagship launch event on Thursday, where it introduced the Realme 11 Pro 5G series, which has two models – 11 Pro 5G and 11 Pro+ 5G.

Realme’s development is significant at a time when India’s smartphone market is going through a slowdown as Apple and Samsung strengthen their presence by doubling down on local manufacturing of their products, leaving the once formidable Chinese players behind in the competition.

In 2020, Chinese conglomerate Huawei sold its Honor smartphone business to China’s Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co Ltd. Last year, Honor announced that it had no plans to exit the Indian market, where it was expanding beyond smartphones to enter the laptop segment. and also launched a portfolio of wearable products.
