ICICI Bank Provides Tips to Prevent Scams Involving Fake Bank Employees

Scams have become well planned and executed so professionally that it is easy to see how people are tricked into sharing confidential information. Fraudsters pretend to call CBI officials, bank employees and even customs officials.

And it goes without saying that people like this aren’t going to call you out of the blue and ask for your personal information unless they have a purpose. This agenda will scam you out of money or even get information that will help them withdraw money from your bank account.

Now ICICI Bank is making sure that none of its customers fall for the dreaded call from a bank employee warning them of some problem with their bank account, which in most cases has been frozen.

Warning to ICICI Bank customers about scam calls

– ICICI Bank never asks for your online account details like one-time password (OTP), card number (debit or credit) and three-digit CVV number.

– Bank employees will never call you asking for personal information, they already have all the information through the KYC process.

– The bank never calls its customers and asks them to transfer money to another account. If you receive similar requests, disconnect immediately.

– Fraudsters try to scare you with details like freezing your bank account, danger of your bank account etc. Never act on such information and share information with callers.

But what happens if you accidentally share information and lose your hard-earned money? ICICI Bank’s letter says to contact National Cyber Crime on their helpline number 1930. You may also receive messages from random WhatsApp contacts claiming to belong to your bank. Never share or entertain queries from such unknown senders.
