Meta Founder Urges Musk and Zuckerberg to Move On From Feud

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg traded barbs on Sunday ahead of an upcoming cage fight at an epic location in Italy, and the Tesla CEO challenged the Meta Founder to a fight in his backyard on Monday.

Musk posted a conversation with Zuckerberg on X (formerly Twitter) and said he will be in Palo Alto, Calif., on Monday and offered to fight in Zuckerberg’s “Octagon.”

Zuckerberg apparently messaged Musk, “If you still want to do a real MMA match, you should train yourself and let me know when you’re ready to compete.”

“I don’t want to jump into something that’s never going to happen, so you should either decide you’re going to do this and do it soon, or we should move on,” Zuckerberg said.

Musk replied: “I haven’t practiced much, apart from a short match with Lex Fridman today. Although I find it highly unlikely given our size difference, maybe you’ll be a modern day Bruce Lee and somehow win.”

American author-journalist Walter Isaacson first reported that Musk is asking Zuckerberg to fight at his home in Palo Alto, California.

Isaacson, who has served as president and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan policy research organization, said in a tweet: “I got this text message from Elon Musk at 4:44 a.m. CT, which shows a screenshot of some text messages where he says. Zuckerberg they should fight this Monday at Zuckerberg’s home in Palo Alto.

Zuckerberg later posted on Threads that “I think we can all agree that Elon is not serious and it’s time to move on.”

“I offered real dates. Dana White offered to make this a legitimate race for charity. Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery and now asks to train in my backyard instead,” said the Meta founder.

“If Elon is serious about a real date and an official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, it’s time to move on. “I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously,” Zuckerberg added.

The Meta founder and CEO previously said he’s “not holding his breath” for Musk to agree to a fight.

Musk had said that he had been in contact with the Italian Prime Minister and the Minister of Culture about organizing the event.

However, Zuckerberg said no date has been set.

Zuckerberg, 39, holds a blue belt in jiu-jitsu and recently won gold and silver in a tournament.
