Report Finds X Failed to Remove 86% of Hate Speech Posts, CCDH Says; Elon Musk Labels it “Psychological Operations”

Billionaire Elon Musk’s social media platform X has once again attracted negative attention, this time for its failure to address hateful posts on the app. Despite experts identifying around 300 posts containing hate speech that violated the company’s content policy, X did not take any action against them. Additionally, X had previously filed a lawsuit against the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) for spreading misinformation.

About the report shared by CCDH

According to a report shared by the CCDH, X did not take action in 86 percent of the 300 hate speech messages on the app. The study claims that many of these shared messages denied that the Holocaust event ever happened, celebrated Nazi ideals, anti-Semitism and expressed support for white ideologies.

The report clearly stated, “One week after reporting, investigators found that X still hosted 86.33 percent (259) of the 300 posts, and 90.00 percent (90) of the 100 accounts remained active. One week after reporting, investigators found that X still had hosted 86.33 percent (259) of the 300 posts and 90.00 percent (90) of the 100 accounts remained active.”

In their findings, the researchers also highlighted that 140 of the shared messages are identified as either supporting anti-Semitic ideas or referring to Jewish figures who claim to be in charge of the world.

In the past, CCDH also reported such messages to the company, but no action was taken according to them, while the messages completely violated the X content policy and encouraged racism, Nazism and more.

Elon Musk had previously reacted by saying that “CCDH is bronze-level psy-ops” in an X message. Regarding the document, Twitter security also released a statement on the platform saying that they receive thousands and millions of messages per day and remove or limit messages that violate their policies. Twitter also says that CCDH is making false claims and presenting false messages. Twitter clearly stated that it believes in freedom of speech.
