Tecno Unveils India’s Cheapest Flip Phone: Details on Price and Features

Tecno is probably the last brand you would expect to launch innovative products, but as the company has shown in the past with its foldable device, it has now unveiled a Flip version. Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G has been unveiled as the most affordable flip phone that Indians can buy in the market. The launch price will be part of a limited time offer, but even then it’s good to see the foldable market slowly expand to a lower price point. Tecno uses a MediaTek chip to power the device with a unique external display.

Tecno Phantom V Flip Price in India

Tecno has launched the Phantom V Flip in India at a price of Rs 49,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. This is an advance price, which means that the price will be revised in the coming weeks. The flip phone will go on sale in the country on October 1. That’s the price you can get for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 these days, but that’s after heavy discounts from retailers.

Tecno Phantom V Flip Features

The Phantom V Flip gets a 6.9-inch flexible AMOLED screen that supports Full HD+ resolution. You have a 1.32-inch external display with an AMOLED panel and Always-On Display feature. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset with 8GB of RAM which is expandable up to 16GB in practice. You get the phone with 256 GB storage. Tecno says the flip mechanism keeps the screen crease-free even after 200,000 flips, which is more than the Moto Razr 40 Ulta managed during recent tests.

Tecno offers the device an Android 13-based user interface and promises that the flip phone will receive 2 operating system updates and three years of security updates. The phone has a 4500mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. The V Flip has a 64-megapixel primary rear camera and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. The front of the phone has a 32-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls. The phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC and Bluetooth connections.
