WhatsApp Introducing Group Chat Feature for Communities
WhatsApp update: The popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is reportedly introducing a general group chat for communities. Communities is a feature that allows users to bring together separate groups under a single umbrella known as a community.
“Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.19.6 update available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is exploring new ways to improve communication between community members by introducing a public group chat feature,” WABetaInfo reported.
A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo revealed a new group for communities that allows community members to chat with each other. When someone joins a community, they can automatically be added to the general group chat, as is already the case in the community announcement group.
To find out if this feature is already available on your WhatsApp account, you need to create a new community. Users can find a general group chat immediately after creating a community. The report suggested that the feature is only available in new communities and there is no plan to bring the same automatic group to old communities.
