Facebook Introduces New Video Editing Tools for Reels in Feeds

Meta has revealed plans to introduce updates that will expand the availability of Reels editing tools on Facebook Feed, simplifying the process of producing engaging videos for users on the platform.

“Whether you’re posting a video for friends and family to see, or trying to reach people who share similar interests, our video editing tools allow people to express themselves in new ways through reels or long videos,” the company said. in a blog post on Monday.

The company is adding more clip editing tools to the feed, such as speeding up, flipping and replacing video. In addition, enhanced audio allows users to mix the right audio into their video by exploring and adding music and audio clips, recording voiceovers, and reducing unwanted noise. Meta also brings the ability to upload high dynamic range (HDR) videos from your phone to Reels.

“The Video tab, formerly known as Facebook Watch, is now a one-stop shop for all things Facebook video, including reels, long-form and live content,” the company said.

“The Video tab looks familiar – you can scroll vertically through a custom feed that recommends all types of video content – but also includes new horizontal scrolling sections that highlight recommended reels so you can quickly jump to a short-form video.”

Users will see the video as a shortcut bar tab soon. In addition, a redesigned Explore video will be released to help users find popular video topics and dive deeper into them. Users can find Explore by tapping the search icon on the Video tab. “We use a combination of human curation and machine learning to select popular topics and videos and highlight the ones we think you’ll like and find interesting,” explained Meta.

Additionally, Facebook users can now view and comment on Instagram Reels that have been recommended to them on Facebook without having to switch between apps.
