Honor is coming with its first phone in India after a long hiatus but people want to know if it will be a Chinese brand or run by Indians.News

Will India’s Upcoming Honor Phone Be Chinese or Indian-Made?

Honor phones will be launched in India very soon and reports suggest that the first device could be announced as early as next month. But ever since news broke that Honor is launching phones again in India, many have questioned whether the company is Chinese or whether it works through Indian partners, giving it a better presence in the country.

All these questions have been answered by Madhav Sheth, who used to be the head of Realme India but is now leading the launch of Honor as a standalone brand in the country. He says that Honor is run by an Indian partner who invests crores in the business and aims to emulate other brands in the Indian smartphone arena.

Sheth has confirmed that the Honor 90 will be the first device to be launched in India and he also assured consumers that the company will be completely Indian-led and that he will only use Honor’s technology and name to sell the products. HMD Global is another brand that has used the Nokia brand to sell its phones and smartphones in the country.

Honor is looking for a better return on its investment in the country, which was not the case when it was owned by Huawei. Honor plans to launch its product line, which includes foldables and laptops.

Honor Phones, but what software?

But when it comes to smartphones, people are a bit worried whether the brand will launch phones with Google’s version of Android or its own platform. Sheth refuted these issues and confirmed that Honor phones in India will have support for Google apps and will come with Google Play Store to download millions of apps that Indians are used to on smartphones.

Honor has also said that the phones will get 2 OS updates and three years of security updates, which is less than brands like Samsung and OnePlus. Honor also assured users that the user interface of its phones will be a clean user experience, which means no bloatware or ads will appear on the screen.

All these updates should help people feel better about the brand’s return with the phones and hopefully attract buyers with its features rather than its origins.
