Meta Introduces WhatsApp Mac App With Enhanced Capabilities

WhatsApp Mac App: Having launched its Windows desktop app earlier this year, WhatsApp, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform, now launched a new native Mac app. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced this update on the social media application Facebook.

“We’re launching a new WhatsApp app for Mac. Group calls for up to 8 people with video and 32 voices,” Zuckerberg said.

According to a blog post, with the new WhatsApp app for Mac, users can now make group calls from Mac for the first time and connect with up to 8 people in video calls and up to 32 people in voice calls.

They can join a group call after it starts, see call history, and choose whether to receive notifications of incoming calls even when the app is closed.

The Meta-owned app also said the new app has been redesigned to be familiar to Mac users, helping users get more done faster when using WhatsApp on the big screen. They can now easily share files by dragging and dropping into a chat and see more chat history.
