Meta’s Threads Now Monitors Elon Musk’s Jet After Suspended Twitter Account

Jack Sweeney, the individual responsible for monitoring Elon Musk’s private jet in real-time, has transitioned to Mark Zuckerberg’s alternative to Twitter, Threads, following his suspension from Twitter last year.

“ElonJet has arrived at Threads!” read Sweeney’s first post on Thursday from the account handle @elonmusksjet, which had more than 21,000 followers as of Saturday morning.

ElonJet has tracked the movements of Musk’s private jet using publicly available data.

In December, Musk-owned Twitter Inc suspended the ElonJet account as the billionaire threatened legal action against the account’s administrator after saying his son had been mistakenly followed by a “crazy stalker.”

Meta-owned Threads, which posed a direct challenge to Twitter, amassed millions of users in hours, including celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Democratic US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as it seeks to capitalize on its rival’s weakened state following a series of chaotic decisions from Musk.

Sweeney, Twitter and Meta did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
