Sundar Pichai Reveals Google’s Reason for Choosing Gemini as its AI Chatbot

Google tends to rename products and even kill many of them. Google recently announced a big AI change to its latest product, which got everyone wondering about the renaming and why it was done.

We’re talking about Bard, which has been rebranded as Gemini and is available on high-end computer systems and mobile devices. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has explained the reason for the name change and why he thinks it makes sense.

Pichai was recently quoted in an interview as saying that the company felt that Gemini was the logical final name to use for its approach to AI systems where they intend to have a capable yet secure AI model. “It really made sense to just develop it as Gemini because you’re talking directly to the underlying Gemini model when you use it,” Pichai said in an interview with CNBC.

He also noted that Google plans to continue developing its AI models under the Gemini name, which users can experience directly. While Google is still in the AI arena, the company has decided to offer a subscription version of its AI model called Gemini Advanced and bundled the AI features into Google One in its new plan priced at $19.9 (roughly Rs. 1,600). in a month.

Just because the head of Google has said that Gemini will be the name of future AI models doesn’t mean the company is actually staying true to its promise, and we blame it on Google’s track record of going back on its word. The company said its online gaming platform Stadia is not shutting down.

It turned out that the service was discontinued by quietly informing its customers of the news in order to avoid a large media reaction. Google is now heavily involved in artificial intelligence, paying thousands of people their jobs at the company as it looks to refocus its growth areas and control costs to invest in those divisions.
