WhatsApp Coming Soon With Group Call Scheduling Feature: Everything You Need To Know

Good news for WhatsApp users around the world, the popular instant messaging app owned by Meta is reportedly working on scheduling group calls. The feature is currently available to those enrolled in the TestFlight program and using WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, which tracks WhatsApp, the “Schedule a call” button can be accessed from a new context menu that appears when you press the call button in a group and is visible when the feature is enabled.

This option allows you to choose when the group call starts and give the scheduled call a name. When a call starts, everyone in the group is notified so they can quickly join the call.

It is important to note that the group call scheduling feature is compatible with both audio and video calls, as it depends on which call button you opened the context menu.

This new feature of WhatsApp will surely help group members to organize their meetings and events in advance, ensuring that all group members know the schedule so that they can prepare accordingly and no other reminders are needed.

This would also help reduce the chances of missed or delayed calls, which can negatively impact group communication and collaboration.

In related news, WhatsApp is also rolling out a new feature that will allow users to prevent messages from disappearing on iOS and Android beta versions. With a new feature, beta testers can now prevent certain disappearing messages from expiring by using the Keep option.

Saved messages are marked with a bookmark icon in the chat bubble and are also visible in the “saved messages” section. Additionally, users in the chat can still control this feature.

According to the report, the ability to prevent messages from disappearing is currently available to some beta testers and is expected to be rolled out to more users in the coming days.
