According to the report, the instant messaging app is developing several improvements to the feature that currently allows us to attach a description to our profile. In particular, it allows users to select a timer so that the description associated with our profile disappears after a selected period of time.

It is very important to note that the “Never” option is currently unavailable. This means that you will no longer be able to attach a permanent text space to your profile.

The report suggested that the introduction of a new text status feature with a timer will give users more control over the visibility of their profile information. Users can set a temporary text mode that will disappear automatically after a certain period of time.

This improved control over the visibility of personal information contributes to improved privacy, allowing users to share ad-hoc updates without the constant text space associated with their profile.

“The absence of the Never option also ensures that users have a time-limited text space, encouraging them to share an updated text space that always reflects their current thoughts or actions,” WABetaInfo said.

A new text mode feature with disappearing options is currently under development and will be available in a future update of the app.

WhatsApp is also rolling out a feature that hides the Meta AI shortcut from the Chats tab.
